YOUR FIRST LESSON

Firstly, I would just like to thank you for choosing Mark’s Driving School for your Training. Learning to drive is an
exciting and possibly daunting time but should be one of many enjoyable life experiences.

I am dedicated to making sure your learning journey is relaxed, enjoyable, productive and most of all SAFE
through a planned client centered approach.

Your learning will be tailored around you the student and my goal is to ensure your driving not only meets the
standards required to pass your driving test but also that it provides you with the life skills so you will go on to
have many years of safe motoring.

My Vehicle
Mercedes Benz A Class Diesel fitted with, Air Con, Sat nav and Reverse camera that is also fitted with He-Man
duel controls. This vehicle meets the criteria set out by the DVSA and as such is kept hygienically clean and maintained to the highest standards.

So, to the start of your journey
Firstly, there is nothing to be worried about, we will be choosing a quiet location for your first
lessons so you can become accustomed to the vehicle and all the basic procedures. We will then proceed at a pace that suits you.

A few things to bring….
Provisional licence. This must be checked to make sure you are legal to drive. This can be done by you the driver visiting https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence then following the instructions to generate a check code.
Please send me the check code and the last 8 digits of your driving licence number and I will do the rest.

Glasses (if you need to wear them). We will check your eyesight to see if it meets the standard of being able to read a car number plate at the required distance.
Comfortable clothing. Wear something loose if possible that does not restrict your movement.
Comfortable footwear: This is important for safe operation of the foot pedals and therefor essential for car control (trainers, flat shoes) or similar will be fine.

You may bring your mobile phone but for the duration of your lessons please ensure it is either switched off or on silent and not on vibrate. This is so you can get the most from your lessons without distraction.
Bring a bottle of water so you can hydrate.

Try and be well rested and alert for your lessons and make sure you have not had alcohol the night before.
If you have not already started using the official DVSA guide to driving the essential skills and or the Highway code then these are essential reading for your theory test and your practical driving test.

If you have any concerns, questions about any of the above or indeed anything at all to do with your lessons then please give me a call drop me an email or a text message.

Many thanks
Mark
